38 Week Update

With Doug's online class it's been really hard to get these up anywhere close to the beginning of the week. The picture is from Wednesday...which was 38 weeks and 2 days

How far along?: 38 weeks
How big is baby?: around 6.8 lbs and 19.5 inches long
Weight gain?: went back down a pound so we're back to magic number 26
Stretch marks?: it kinda looks like a tiger attack below my belly button
Maternity clothes?: I just bought that dress in the pic in the last week because I found coupons from Target I didn't know I had! It's jersey material and super comfy. I know the belly will stick around for a bit after JD is born so I figure I'll get enough use out of it.
Sleep?: Well I am getting more of it...the problem is he likes to stay up late and kick his mommy and daddy while they try to get to sleep. So then mommy ends up sleeping in way too late...I'm turning into an owl; sleep all day, awake all night!
Best moment this week?: Well it wasn't pleasant but there are some good signs we're making progess towards him being born. Wednesday I had hot flashes and generally did not feel well. It looks and feels like he dropped a bit more. Last night I had contractions for about 4 hours...not very painful, so they may have been more like Braxton Hicks/false labor, but it got to a point where they were coming every 7 minutes. Nothing today though. I also got his record book in the mail this week :) Oh and my thank you cards are finally done! I had to go and buy more. I sent 45 out for my shower...there were at least another 20 I'd already done for work. This kid is spoiled!
Food cravings?: I was desperate for pizzeria pizza (ie not Papa John's) earlier this week
Gender?: Well there won't be any updates on this till he's born...and hopefully nothing changes! Movement?: all. the. time. He's a dancing machine, especially at night.
Belly button?: still an innie! I believe it's gonna make it :)
What I miss?: painlessly bending over (like to week my garden)

Oh, I have been trying to walk or do some kind of work everyday, so Wednesday I went to the mall to walk in the air conditioning....I couldn't resist this

I hadn't bought any stuffed animals for him...so I felt ok with this. No this does not mean the J in JD is for Joey ;)
