After all the festivities we were sitting around chatting and playing with Kim's youngest, 1 year old Kiera. Kiera came over to me and wanted to sit on my lap, which of course prompted Kim to ask when I was going to have one (a question anyone who is married and over the age of 25 dreads getting until they are actually ready to say yes).

I'd spoken with Doug about the possibility of telling at the party. He had to work so he couldn't be there, but he said he would be ok with it if I told since I don't see my extended family very frequently. I wasn't sure if I would tell today since we are still early on, but I also feel pretty confident about this baby making it.
So when Kim asked, I answered "February." She looked at me funny and then gasped "Are you pregnant?!" I said yes and my enthusiastic Aunt Judy ran over and hugged me adding "Clara's finally gonna be a grandma." Aunt Judy is my mom's youngest sister and has been a grandma for 15 years. Everyone else was somewhat shocked (perhaps they thought since I waited this long and didn't have any I was just gonna stick with that plan)and congratulated me. Sean said he hopes we have a boy...he is a football coach what can you expect:)
Kim offered me the baby stuff Kiera can't use anymore. I think she mentioned a jumper and a swing, which I will gladly take off her hands, no use in spending extra money.
It was a good day :)
