First Appointment

We had our first appointment at 7 weeks. I was somewhat disappointed because we didn't get a peek at baby or its heartbeat, but I am ok with that now. I had a normal exam plus some blood work. Instead of indulging in small talk about whatever book I brought to the office, Sue, my NP, was all about congratulating me and talking about the baby. During the exam she felt my uterus and said it was rounding, exactly what it should be doing.

On the horizon, I have an appointment July 23 which the office counts as my first OB appointment, I will be 9 week pregnant then. I also was told I will have an ultrasound at 10 weeks. I am really excited about the ultrasound and I hope we can schedule it on a day Doug has off! I have a gazillion prenatal vitamins to choose from...so that should be interesting.

Aside from the pregnancy, I have had some nice meetings with friends lately. Last Tuesday I had lunch with Leah and her 6 month old daughter. It was really nice to spend some time with them since I don't get to see work friends much during the summer. Saturday Debbie, a college friend, came down and we went to Starbucks to catch up on things. Later that day I babysat for family friends. I watched a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Doug and I took them out to dinner. It was nice to watch him with kids and I couldn't help but think what a great father he is going to be :).

Well I guess that's it for today. I am thinking about doing belly pictures. I have nothing yet so I am waiting but I realize I need a starting point picture so that may be posted shortly.
